US President Donald Trump said that the United States possesses a larger nuclear arsenal and more advanced weapons than Russia, according to The New York Times on January 11.

During a conversation with journalists, Trump rejected assertions that Russia holds an advantage in the number of nuclear weapons. He said the United States has more nuclear warheads, while adding that such comparisons ultimately matter little because “it only takes one.”

“But we have more than they do. We have better than they do. We have better military equipment than they do,” he said.

Trump also emphasized that US military equipment is superior to Russia’s, saying this superiority has been demonstrated repeatedly in real-world situations.

In addition, the US president made an ironic comment about the effectiveness of Russia’s air defense systems. He said that during a US operation in Venezuela, Russian air defense systems failed to show strong performance.
