  1. From the article:

    > In a statement posted to Telegram, the group announced the closure of the National Socialist Network would also spell the end of “co-projects” White Australia, the European Australian Movement and the White Australia Party.

    <Quote>
    > “If the laws pass, there will [be] no way to avoid the organisation being banned,” the statement said.

    > “This disbandment is being done before the laws take effect to avoid former members of the organisations from being arrested and charged.”

    <End Quote>

    > The statement – which said it would close down by January 18 — was signed by leader Thomas Sewell and other high-profile white nationalists.

    Good to see the laws doing something. Repulsive seeing movements championing the white Australia policy and the Nazi party.

    Let’s fucking go

    they’ll probably carry on underground, but at least this will force them out of public life, which is a win in my book

  3. Good. Our Anzacs were not sacrificed on the alter of war just so some snivelling cunts can revive the ideology on our home soil.

    The entire ideology should get the same treatment here as it does in Germany, jail time.

    Maybe because it’s made up entirely of non-Australian British and South African migrants who don’t want to lose their visa

    Good, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

    I do fear this will drive their shit underground where it will be harder to monitor/track, but also taking away any thin veil of legitimacy or purpose from having a public image is also very important

  6. Sure they will. They’ll just go underground or rename to “Aplha Viking Warrior Big-Dick Fitness Club” or some such shite.

    Nah, I call bullshit. They’ll just reform into a more ‘moderated’ version of fascism or reconvene as some kind of One Nation proxy. They know that these laws will be used as justification to shut down the left while being selectively enforced against the right and decided that that’s a good trade.

    Yeah this isn’t the end.

    You don’t hate that hard, reach newer heights of societal significance, then give up your bat and go home.

    These assholes are likely torching their old group to create some new version which is more legitimized and better couched in dog whistles, religion and culture wars.

    America is ready for open swastikas, Aus is not and hopefully never will.

    While it’s great that they are ‘disbanding’ this quickly, I suspect they’ll try to shift to a deep undercover network but hopefully they lose their drive and motivation due to the tough new laws severely limiting their activity and it all fizzles out. We do not need this evil ideology on Australian soil.

    they will still keep doing their thing, just less obvious in the public scene, will still take this as a win though, since it makes it harder for their influence to spread very publicly

  11. So they admit they promote hate? They admit their ‘movement’ is about hating other people.

    I’m sure they will just do things on the down low. There’s no way they will stop. Maybe they could move to the US.

    Dont think anyone is going to have a problem with Neo-Nazi groups/parties disbanding, rip bozo’s.

    Still doesn’t change the fact that the new hate speech laws are extremely problematic and cause for concern.

  13. This is not a win, this is public theatre. They will just claim to be a group friends when they gather, making it harder to disperse them. They are not going to publicly front as white nationalists, they will use the same doublespeak and legal loophole bullshit they’ve always used. The NSN can be banned, an unnamed loose association of people who happen to share similar racist views is MUCH harder to legislate against.

  14. justpassingluke on

    Ooh do they promise?

    I’m not going to celebrate too hard – they’ll still be out there – but hopefully their lack of public profile will have a chilling effect on their mission.

    Hope so, but it feels like they’ll just end up operating undercover. They need to be arrested proper for being involved with a hate group regardless if they “left” it.

  16. Quick, someone take their name and make it something pink and register it so they can’t come back.

  17. Got a chuckle out of this caption from one of the photos:
    “NSN NSW leader Jack Eltis (far left)”

  18. Very very doubt this is the end. They just won’t go out in the open like they did before. Roaches like this don’t just stop.

    Still quite funny to see them scared of their own repercussions
