The data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in December 2025, compared to November 2025, the average level of consumer prices decreased by 0.1 %.

The drop in prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, mainly of spirits as well as of clothing and footwear, contributed the most to the price level change. In turn, prices of goods and services related to transport as well as of goods and services related to housing increased.

Over the month, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew by 0.2 %. As the sales campaigns ended, price rise for coffee (of 4.1 %) had the strongest upward influence on the average price level within the group. The average level of alcoholic beverage and tobacco product prices reduced by 2.1 %.

Average price level of goods and services related to housing rose by 0.3 %. The most significant price rise within the group was registered for heat energy (1.3 %). Prices of water supply (4.9 %) and sewage collection (6.5 %) also went up. In turn, electricity (1.9 %) and rentals for housing (0.8 %) became cheaper.

Compared to December 2024, in December 2025 the average level of consumer prices increased by 3.5 %. The average level of consumer prices was mainly influenced by the rise in prices of goods and services related to housing (1.2 percentage points), mainly of electricity. Also, food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.1 percentage points), miscellaneous goods and services group (0.2 percentage points), goods and services related to recreation and culture (0.2 percentage points), health care (0.2 percentage points) contributed significantly to the price level changes.
