  1. No idea what there is to “Examine” tbh, you just stop using it.

I run a public bodies social media and I simply told management last year that we aren’t getting any link clicks from X (with the data to prove it), so they allowed me to delete our account and focus on social media platforms where we do get link clicks.

  2. What the fuck is to think about, the government should be banning this cesspools, not should I still be using it

I deleted my account when Musk took over. Honestly, all Irish fov accounts should get off X already. Absurd to still be using it.

The amount of users they’re reaching via that app must be negligible these days to justify it anyway.

You don’t see public bodies rushing to set up Bebo and MySpace pages. All social media apps tend to run their course and this is the end of the likes of Facebook and Twitter.

After Muskifiication of twitter I switched to threads, now even that app is unusable due to the constant propaganda, fake PR and Racism, I know freedom of speech is important but it should not interfere with someone’s freedom of life. At this point reddit is the only safe place, but donno how long.

  6. All public bodies should leave X because it is a hate-filled shithole ruled by bot-accounts. If you lived on X, you would genuinely think 90% of your countrymen and women are psychotic frothing-at-the-mouth racists and homophobes.

  7. Its a horrible app. This BS. “We will examine ending it” is pure crap also. Just end it. Theyre clearly just saying it for PR and not wanting to jump before anyone else.

  8. I remember when Musk bought twitter everyone was joking that he’d run it into the ground, I didn’t think it would actually turn out this bad though. It’s mad, because it used to be (for me at least) the best social media platform to actually engage with people about niche interests and have a nice little online community going until not that long ago.

After he bought it, it quickly just turned into the place I got most of my sports news from, then even quicker I had deleted my account when my feed had been completely overhauled

  9. Not DCC, but in the same vein: I wish Irish Rail would stop using X to post train delays announcements. I know you can use proxies to view contents on X if you don’t have an account, but it’s still absurd they’re using a platform that not only demands having an account to be able to use it, but is also full of trash, to post announcements that should be available publicly. Wouldn’t it make more sense to display delays and other announcements in their own app?

    JUST STOP USING IT!!

You have a website. Use that. Do what we did before twitter came along. I’ve never had a twitter account – have I missed out? No. Is anyone’s quality of life better because of twitter? No.

  11. If they think Grok putting bikinis on people is bad, they might want to take a look at a few more ‘AI picture editing’ sites out there.

Putting a girl in a bikini is timid compared to what else can, and has been done.

  12. People need to not only leave X, but more importantly, everyone needs to stop posting pictures and videos of their children on online platforms. Children cannot consent to being content due to their age.

They were pretty quick to demand a park change its name, but they have to examine this? Really strange.

The Epic Ganes ceo is rallying against the banning of x due to sexualisation of kids with AI…

  15. Good! I’m exhausted telling people I don’t use either meta or X when they say “follow us on *insert one of the other*. Not everyone uses instagram, facebook or X or wants to. They need to branch out or start sending out email newsletters again.

  16. People are only complaining about this now? It’s so much worse than been reported there’s literally executions and livestream killing sprees on it I deleted x around start of that Gaza crisis began I seen things I didn’t need to see just wanting to find news

  17. twitter is still just one privately owned website among millions of websites. DCC stuff should first and foremost be on their own bloody website. Maybe provide an rss/atom feed we can subscribe to too. As an Irish person I shouldn’t have to get any updates from twitter anyway for any irish organisation. A number of Irish government bodies and private companies currently pull that shit, the only channel of timely update being this other random foreign corporate website i.e. twitter/x. It annoyed me even before twitter was taken over, and would apply regardless of how much of a tool Musk is being. Put updates on your own website as the canonical url, and link back to it from posts on various 3rd party corporate social media websites if you want, sure, but the real problem is people treating some random popular private website as if a public service. Instead of just using websites right. It’s actually never been easier to have your own website.
