  1. That drawing sets up a false equivalence between the facts of the case that doesn’t exist.

Further, the “she was running away” people are likely to agree, ICE shouldn’t have been there to begin with.

But they were there, and the facts of what happened matter.

    It’s neither funny nor accurate.

Would love to see the part of ICE training or policy where they instruct agents to stand in front of running vehicles…

Would really appreciate to see the section where it instructs them to pull out their personal phone and record the interaction from multiple angles, instead of… Idk, a body cam?

Would really be helpful to see exactly where it instructs them to use lethal force to gun down mothers and call them “stupid bitch” after executing them.

  3. Man, I dont think memes and especially this format can properly capture the nuance of the situation which is very important.

Maybe memes aren’t meant for everything and shouldn’t be used to dumb down complex takes?

  4. You can literally see her in the video that the agent recorded turning the wheels away

  5. If you wanted to kill someone that day, with plausible deniabilty, how would you do anything different than what Ross did that day.

    He LITERALLY circled the car.

  6. Also, yes, running from the police would have its consequences… but *never should those consequences be getting shot at and/or killed*. It’s disgusting the amount of people who are normalizing this as their rationale to the situation with “wHat Do YoU tHiNk HaPpEnS wHeN TrYiNg tO rUn FrOm CoPs?!”

But before this even comes into play… yes, HE SHOULDNT EVEN HAVE BEEN THERE!

  8. Considering we have the first person view of the ice officer who shot her. She said she wasn’t mad at him, and the steering wheel was turned in the direction that she would pose no danger to the Ice Agent called her a fucking bitch and shot her 3-4 times. Only two of these people in this image are correct. The third is just a maga nutjob.

She should not have had to be there but when a dictatorship is trying to be established we all have a duty to resist.

Why is she’s turning away from him small brain? That’s literally a fact of the video.

  11. That’s my stance, he was hit by a car in June.

In any other law enforcement he would have been reassigned because that is a clear PTSD scenario. People who have been in that situation prejudge and act rashly.

This was result of a poor administrative system and lack of oversight.

ICE is causing more chaos, violence and death that people harvesting crops, who knew!

  13. Prior to ICE’s approach to remove her from the car, all she was wanted for was obstructing traffic.

ICE HAS NO AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE TRAFFIC LAWS! THEY LITERALLY HAD NO RIGHT TO BE REMOVING HER FROM THE CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE.

  14. Interesting point someone brought up is that by his own video, you see him come around the passenger side and stand in front of the vehicle. So when she started moving, she may not have even known he was there until she started moving. Which is entirely his fault for walking unannounced in the path of an unsecured vehicle.

Gotta love when the centrists agree with one side, dont realize it, and then call themselves big brained lol.

  16. He was there because he was waiting for that moment. He was itching to kill, it’s something he had been dreaming about for a long time.

  17. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING!

If you cared about your life enough to shoot someone, you’d think that you cared enough to not put yourself right in front of a 2 ton death machine.

  18. Careful, the “he shouldn’t have been there” wasn’t a clincher in the Rittenhouse case. Also Im pretty sure that murderous parasite (or his equally atrocious supporters) tried to frame that as victim blaming during or after the trial.

  19. Or another one. Why is he trained to respond like that? Not even a lot of law enforcement laws say to create that situation and escalate it the way he did.

It’s either incompetence or maliciousness either by him or the person who trained him…. Oh it’s both.

The biggest reason why fascism is dangerous to a normal person is it gives dumb fucking morons like him a gun and the evil motivational confidence to use it for fun.

Honestly looked like he was trying to physically block her car from leaving. I very much remember conservatives being all for running down people in their way when they were protestors. Just saying.

This is like telling a pregnant teenager to just wear a condom. We’re past that point.

  22. SasparillaTango on

And even then there are multiple degrees of “He shouldn’t even be there”

    a) He shouldn’t be standing in front of the car, against DHS policy

    b) He shouldn’t be in the field if he’s unstable from being dragged 100m previously

    c) ICE Shouldn’t be in Minnesota because the Illegal Immigration population is trivial and clearly they are only deployed there to terrorize Tim Walz’s state.

    d) ICE shouldn’t be enacting Trump’s commands because Trump should be in prison for leading an insurrection

    e) ICE shouldn’t exist as it was created as massive over reach and an increase in security theater post 9/11

see — there are degrees to this shit

imagine a president bingo card where you win by landing in multiple categories lol, would be wild seeing who gets bingo first

  24. I’m not american, so to me the saddest thing about this whole thing is to see just how much normalized gun violence is with americans. I would understand right-wing people saying nasty stuff like “She deserved”, “She was trying to hurt him”, etc, etc… But even the left-wing people are still debating how close she was from him, the angle of the wheels, this and that…

What the actual fuck. NONE OF THAT IS RELEVANT. Because the punishment for driving away from a ‘cop’ is NOT the death penalty.

We are (for now) still not living in some cyberpunk society. Cops arrest people, they bring them to a judge and the judge decides what to do with them. Cops do not (should not) kill people as punishment. Why are people skipping this part?

It’s the same shit that happened to George Floyd… The right would be like “Yeah, but he was a criminal”, and the left would take the bait and be like “No, he was a son! And this and that…” NONE OF THAT IS RELEVANT. Cops do not have the authority to kill (unarmed) people as punishment for anything.

    We are fucked.
