So, we want to try and reassure our allies and partners that we are going to do everything we can to ensure that the alliance continues, and that there’s no action taken that would be adverse to the interests of Denmark, Greenland, or the United States, for that matter,” Shaheen said.Shaheen and other lawmakers have since introduced a bill that would essentially block the U.S. from taking over Greenland.The visit comes a day after a high-stakes meeting took place at the White House. The foreign ministers of Greenland and Denmark met with Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.The two sides agreed to create a group to discuss ways to work through differences as President Donald Trump presses for a U.S. takeover of Greenland for what he calls national security reasons.
