The reason India is on top is that most of these tourists come through tourism agencies and get ripped off at every stage from hotel stays to dining and tourism activities. While most Europeans and other country people travel on their own which saves them a lot. My cousin was in tourism agency and most of his clients were Indians. For some reason, Indian people dont wanna explore on their own and prefer everything laid out for them and that’s expensive.

As a Turkish this makes no sense for me, so many Turkish people going to Batumi only for gambling in which they spend a lot. Turkey could have been in the Top 10 but maybe I’m wrong so

Good luck tourism with that border control and plain racism over Indians growing last years. Government doing nothing against it, society completely ignore they problem.

Tour operator here, no way that’s true. Mostly Indian clients are begging me for discounts and ghosting me when I refuse to go far below market rates. I honestly have am pretty hesitant to respond anymore when I see Indian numbers or names because I have wasted way too much time on people who constantly avoid discussing money, asking for more and more details, asking me to plan out all kinds of crazy details for them, asking me endless questions and then ghosting me when I mention anything about money. Of 100 requests from Indians I probably get 2 clients. I don’t want to discriminate against any kind of people or country and so far I still respond to everyone but I really start to wonder if it’s worth my time. Now if I get a request from an Indian my first question is to confirm their budget. Which they normally avoid the question and start asking other questions. If they don’t confirm their budget by the second message, no way I’m taking any more time for that.

In what period? 1 week or 1 month? Is this data normalized per time unit or not?

I’m an Georgian expat living in Israel for over two decades (I occasionally visit family), tons of Israelis love visiting Georgia, they’re loaded. It’s one of the few countries where there is little to no antisemitism, and Israelis love to travel.

I think the conclusion here is that the top ten broadly spends a similar amount. This is about averages, and doubt the data here is amazing, so I wouldn’t read more into it than that.

Interesting statistic, as someone working in tourism, I also know that Indians on a budget comes usually to Georgia, usually Indians who can afford travel prefer travelling to western Europe over Georgia. As Georgia usually is considered either an off beaten travel path (As opposed to lets say Switzerland) or a backwater of the west in many East Asian mindsets.

I wonder how many of the Indians in this are resident students. The neighbours (Turkey, Armenia etc) tend to do day trips are score low on this sort of survey.
