One Macedonia has won North Macedonia’s 5G frequency tender, parent company 4iG Group said, according to a report by Hungarian state news wire MTI.
The result gives One Macedonia the right to build and operate a 5G standalone network.
One Macedonia will tap its strategic cooperation with Erisson for the project. Commercial operation of the network must launch by March 2027, while coverage in urban areas and along major transport routes must be in place by 2030.
Nationwide coverage must be achieved by 2032.
4iG is present in other markets in the Western Balkans region with its One brand, providing landline and mobile services in Albania and mobile services in Montenegro.
