Jack Boone was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after crashing his car into the Bargain Max at the Eastridge Mall.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police arrested a man who drove his car into a Gastonia store after an altercation.

The incident happened at the Bargain Max at the Eastridge Mall near New Hope Road on Thursday, according to the Gastonia Police Department.

Police say Jack Boone, 18, drove his car into the store after an altercation. Investigators did not specify what led to the altercation.

Boone is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony resist, delay and obstruct, and damage to property. Boone’s bond total was not immediately available. 

The incident remains under investigation.
