  1. Thats piss poor but the Nobel committee were fools giving it to her in the first place. She was always going to do this.

Waddya mean Norway did their job? As in, us the people? We dont get a say in who gets the Nobel prices bud…. Norway didn’t do anything.

  3. MaterialLogical1682 on

Well, the nobel prize is given by the nobel committee, not by a nobel prize winner, so he didnt get shit

  4. I am not surprised the idea of getting it from her was a part of the reason Trump went after maduro. But now that he has one in his possession, does it mean he feels embolden to continue with his less than peaceful antics?

  5. She cheered on the extra judicial murder of Venezuelans in boats, the bombing of her country and illegal kidnapping of a sitting president. She has openly encouraged Western financial interests to come take venezuelan resources at the cost of the Venezuelan population. The Nobel peace committee did nothing admirable here.

  6. Norway did not do its job. The prize was awarded to someone who did not truly deserve it, when there were far more qualified individuals who would have made excellent Nobel Peace Prize recipients. Venezuelan political democracy is not among the most pressing global peace concerns when weighed against far more urgent humanitarian crises.

If anything, the most appropriate category for Norway to have recognized would have been support for and advocacy on behalf of Palestine. Honoring someone who has dedicated their life to standing up for Palestinian rights would have been a far more defensible and meaningful choice.

Between Palestine–Gaza and Venezuela, which represents the more urgent peace issue at the time the award was granted? The answer is obvious. The decision is made even more troubling by the fact that the recipient is openly sympathetic to Trump and appears eager to align herself with his agenda. In effect, Norway awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to a fascist-adjacent, would-be puppet—an outcome that fundamentally undermines the credibility of the prize.

    Edit: Grammar and sentence structure

  7. If Trump now backs her instead of the VP from the previous regime then indirectly Norway have done their jobs. They should give it to Greenland’s PM next year

  8. I wonder how much he gave her for this. She made double bank. Perhaps the Nobel committee should just null this price and declare it an error.

Trump is a man of theatre, he became famous from a reality TV show. I don’t know why people put so much emphasis on the whole Nobel thing and think that he decides foreign policy solely to get a Nobel Prize. It’s all a show. Don’t fall for the distraction, Trump’s strategy is to flood the zone with tons of outrageous distractions designed to be viral that you miss the bigger picture.

The whole Nobel thing has become a way of kissing the ring to the United States. Corina Machado is basically kissing the ring. It was the same when Pakistan nominated Trump for Nobel Peace Prize. Remember, the US has completely cast away the notion of soft power and is now flexing its hard power, as demonstrated in Venezuela. Kissing the ring served as a symbol of allegiance.

  10. Nobel peace prize was always shit anyway, like that dude who refused it says, peace is a responsibility, not a prize to be won.

  11. So Trump accepted a gift from a Nobel Peace Price winner, and the MAGAts now believe that is equivalent of him being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize? Her giving it to him, is her prerogative. The meaning of the price doesn’t change, the winner doesn’t change, just the hands owning the physical medal.

This is nothing else then brainrot.

  12. Just embarrassing. But it doesn’t change anything. When someone passes on their Olympic gold medal in sprinting, it doesn’t make the recipient any faster either.

I mean honestly when Obama got the Nobel prize for peace I just gave up following the Nobel prize

  14. Doesn’t change anything, he still didn’t get it. Can’t have someone give you an Olympic medal and then you claim your an Olympic champion lol

He looks at least somewhat alive in this picture which lets me think either 1) a lot of makeup or 2) AI or photoshop 🤷🏼‍♀️

  16. in the spirit of children’s sports competition, we give the participation trophy to the one kid who will otherwise start to cry

  17. One is a war criminal and the other is a genocidal supporter, I don’t see why both should have it.

I don’t understand the fuss about this matter. The award is an honorary award. The medal is just a formality. The fact that Trump is in the order of the medal is not synonymous with him having received the Nobel Peace Prize. He is now the owner of an artifact, not a title.

  19. What a clown show. They should revoke its legitimacy publicly and especially her award. She may perceive this as a peace act by giving the tangerine rapist what he wants, but the pedophile orangutan will only get an ego boost and want more.

America, all of it, is becoming a joke.

  20. Infamous_Campaign687 on

We didn’t. We gave it to someone who would install another dictator as long as it isn’t a socialist one and who is ok with murdering people without trial at sea.

There MUST have been a better candidate somewhere in the world.

  21. On the plus side, I think him accepting it lowered his (probably already negligible) chances of actually getting one for himself.
