Construction work on the new Kranjčevićevoj Stadion in Zagreb is progressing at full pace, marking a major step forward in the city’s long-awaited stadium modernisation plans.
Grad Zagreb announced on Friday that Significant structural milestones have already been achieved.
The reinforced concrete foundations and prefabricated structure of the north stand have been completed, while assembly of the west and east stands is currently underway.
At the same time, reinforced concrete works on the west stand continue, alongside the development of internal spaces beneath the north and east stands. Works on internal access roads and traffic routes are also in progress.
Once completed, Zagreb will gain a modern sports stadium for the first time in more than 50 years.
Scheduled for completion by late 2026, the new venue will have a capacity of 11,163 seats and a 105 x 68 metre pitch, fully compliant with UEFA Category 4 standards, allowing it to host high-level domestic and international matches.
Beyond football, the project includes extensive urban and community features.
A new public square spanning 6,300 square metres will be created, along with a car park offering more than 400 spaces.
The stadium will also include modern facilities for athletes, officials and fans, enhancing the overall matchday and event experience.
The development is expected to play a key role in the urban regeneration of the Kranjčevićeva area, delivering an architecturally significant landmark and a multi-purpose venue suitable not only for sporting events but also for concerts and large public gatherings, Grad Zagreb said.

The reconstruction of Stadion u Kranjčevićevoj is a critical prerequisite for the planned demolition and construction of a new Maksimir Stadium.
The Maksimir project is being delivered through a partnership between the City of Zagreb and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, with Kranjčevićeva set to temporarily host major football fixtures during that transition.
