Capitulating to an abuser doesn’t pay. You can’t negotiate with a personality disorder. You make other plans. It takes patience and planning, and your community will ignore you if it is any cost to their convenience.

    >“Well, if you ever remember a place called Iraq, where everybody was fired, every single person. The police, the generals, everybody was fired,” Trump said. “And they ended up being ISIS. Instead of just getting down to business, they ended up being ISIS…. But I’ll tell you I had a great meeting yesterday by a person who I have a lot of respect for … and she gave me her Nobel Prize.”

    WTF does this even mean?

[ISIS was formed in Camp Bucca](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/dec/11/-sp-isis-the-inside-story) (a US run ‘detention’ camp) and they didn’t take over the Iraq government.

The guy literally has no idea what he’s talking about.

    >It seems that Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado’s ultimate show of fealty to President Trump will get her nothing.

    >Machado met with Trump on Thursday and brought along her Nobel Peace Prize, offering it to the president. It was clearly a last-ditch attempt to earn a larger role in any upcoming regime change effort in the wake of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s kidnapping. But Trump couldn’t care less.

    >“You just called Machado a ‘very nice person,’” reporters asked Trump Friday afternoon. “Why align yourself with [interim President] Delcy Rodríguez and the remnants of the Maduro regime, not with Machado, who has the support of the Venezuelan people?”

Everybody who isn’t a sycophant knew how this was going to go.

  4. The melt value of a Nobel prize is about $10,000. Auctions for the most physical awards can get up to $5 million (the record is just over $100 million, but that’s a single outlier that was likely inflated due to the statement of proceeds to be used for Ukrainian military defense).

Honestly, it probably would have been far more effective for Machado to buy $50,000 work of gold and give him a custom award, “just like the Nobel, sir, but twice as big, because you do twice as much for peace.”

Seems like smart people have been talking to Trump, because he mentioned the very reason Machado is on the back burner. She doesn’t have the support of the leviers of power, the military, the militias. removing those makes it a big mess. Which also means the US has no way of removing them externally, so nothing changes for the Venezuelan people.

It was always a stupid move, a complete misunderstanding of the pathology. Not only was this never going to do a goddamned thing for her or her country, he’s going to escalate his illegal activities in Venezuela. All of this is malignant narcissism, but he was extra motivated by humiliating her because she’s a woman. Wake up, learn what the pathology is. Everyone thinks they’re going to be the one who can finesse a narcissist.

  7. Why so many people keep embarrassing themselves and killing their entire legacy just for a CHANCE at some short term boost from him is beyond me. She’s not even old either so she has to deal with this embarrassment long after he’s gone. Also, it’s such a beta move for a wannabe leader.

  8. Give the bully your lunch money, that’ll make him leave you alone! It definitely won’t reinforce that his approach gets results and he should keep doing it!

  9. Hold on a second. Giving in to a bully doesn’t make him your friend and protector for the rest of your life!?

  10. She fell for the scam and got jacked. Oh well, at least she left with a bag full of useless  MAGA swag!…..well, it’s back to exile for Machado. Don’t think she’s welcome in Scandinavia

  11. > When asked why he would want someone else’s Nobel Prize, Trump replied, “Well, she offered it to me.”

That was it. Nothing more. It’s like he doesn’t remember the months of him whining like a spoiled rotten 2 year old about it.

The transparent ridiculousness of Donald is almost more embarrassing than how shallow he is.

    Wow.

  12. Correct me if my understanding of the situation is wrong, because I don’t feel sorry for anyone involved at all.

Machado literally offered up her Nobel Prize and gave him the worlds biggest geopolitical blowjob of all time, in hopes that Trump would invade Venezuela, overthrow Maduro, and install her as his puppet. Instead, Trump invaded Venezuela and overthrew Maduro anyway, took her peace prize because she was dumb enough to give it to him, only to watch him tell her to go fuck herself while he now declares himself a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

She was a sheep literally willing to vote with the wolves over what’s for dinner, thinking that would somehow save her from being the dinner. She was wrong. I do not feel sorry for her.

The fact that Trump has someone else’s Nobel peace prize is simultaneously insane and hilarious.

Watching this regime-change asset realize in real time that she’s spent the past few months deepthroating the boots of the world’s worst/most powerful people for nothing is immensely satisfying. She’s thrown in her lot with Trump, Netanyahu, and a bunch of oil company execs, and seems genuinely shocked that it isn’t working out for her. You really love to see it.

  15. For her sake, I hope this was a deliberate political act to remove any doubt how vile the American president is. But even with this charitable interpretation, Machado looks horrible. The Nobel prize is very much a big deal. Giving it to the likes of Trump is no different than wiping her ass with it, regardless of her motivation.

  16. This is the worst case of gimme gimme gimme I want it I’ve ever seen he has the mental capacity of a 4yr old

  17. On top of the “he was never going to do it anyway” the most foolish part was giving the giant toddler the cookie before he did the chore. Now that there’s no incentive he’s just going to wander off, shit his pants, and take a nap.

  18. The cia asset, awarded a Nobel prize for all her hard work as a cia asset, has now further devalued the Nobel prize by turning it over to the pedophile who’s in charge of the very same cia she’s an asset for. This timeline is insane
