      *We are updating the development.*

It started at the City Hall Square in Copenhagen. Now the demonstrations have moved to outside the American Embassy in Copenhagen.

It is a protest against President Donald Trump’s statement that the United States needs Greenland for security reasons.

In Copenhagen, one sees both Danish and Greenlandic flags in the enormous crowd.

There will also be protests in Greenland on Saturday.

15,700 people participated in the demonstrations, according to Greenlandic KNR . One of them is Laila Geisler Frederiksen.

      – I want to show that we stand together, Greenlanders and Danes, she tells NRK, who is on site.

Frederiksen grew up in Greenland, but moved with his family to Næstved three years ago.

      – I feel insecure and think a lot about family and friends who are in Greenland. The support from other countries is important and means a lot. Greenland is not for sale, she says.

“Kalaallit Nunaat” is also shouted in the Danish capital on Saturday. It means Greenland in Greenlandic.

In addition to Copenhagen, there will be demonstrations on Saturday in other Danish cities such as Aarhus, Aalborg and Odense in Denmark, and in the Greenlandic capital Nuuk.

      **Serious foreign policy crisis**

The actions of the American president have created unrest and insecurity in Greenland, says Professor Rasmus Bertelsen.

      – This is a society that has been colonized before. And it is a society that is very much influenced by previous Danish colonization. My impression from people I know in Greenland is that this influences people very much, he tells NRK.

Europe needs to dump the US and the USD. They provoked the war in Ukraine and blew up Nordstream to sell us criminally overpriced energy and keep us weak. They fine and bully our investment companies disproportionally. Now they have officially gone rogue and are working towards a a world where might makes right and we are subjected to the whims of a corrupt criminal socioapathic oligarchy. Tbh I don’t want that world. We should dump the US and the USD and take a stand. Short term pain,. long term gain the alternative is to show the kids that lying and bullying is the way to win.

    3. I would like to see the same kind of demonstrations in the US, but they don’t appear to understand that allowing their country to wage a war against Europe won’t leave them unscathed.

“You don’t know what you got till it’s gone”

Denmark coming to it’s senses and suddenly cares a lot about Greenland.

Good. We don’t get to care whether we need it or not; it’s not ours to take one way or the other.

    6. The best way to demonstrate is with your pocket. I understand that it’s very difficult to boycott all American products, but plenty can be. As an example, Apple’s marketshare for smartphones is like over 60% in Denmark. Plenty of very good smartphone brands that aren’t American.

    7. **HERE IN AUSTRALIA** our whitewashed mainstream media keeps reporting each new Trump madness as if it’s serious news. No criticism, no concern, no alarm. Just another day as a sycophant to the USA. If the MAGA Republicans ever turn their eye to Australia’s natural resources, a lot of sleep-walking Aussies are in for a rude shock.

I hope all this Christo-Fascist derangement from America does some good, and helps Greenland and Denmark find a path into the future that works for both.

All Europe should expell Americans – show them they mean business. It is not going to be enough to say “pls don’t”.

    9. While Trump couldn’t care less about the opinion of Danes and Greenlanders, demonstrations make a difference: the US has lost the propaganda war. Conquering Greenland would be easy if they could portray themselves as liberators from Danish imperialism or protectors against Russian encroachment, but that’s not going to work. They’ll have to use brute force, which is not that effective, as Iraq and Afghanistan show.

    10. Both US and Russia are apparently very successful at uniting Europe, I’m all for it and I honestly hope it’s a lesson that will last generations.

    11. The entire world needs to shut us out. Make it painful; we are in serious trouble in the United States.

    12. What is the problem? Greenland first recognized annexed part of Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija as fake country.

Now karma is coming at your doorstep, hahaha.

I can’t wait to visit America in Europe when I visit Greenland. I hope they make a lot of McDonald’s and Burger king’s.

    13. We already had an agreement with Greenland that gave us all the security we needed. He wants their resources. Just like Venezuela.
