Feather River Land Trust announces that ecophysiologist Hannah Carey will present a talk on hibernation Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Sierra Valley Nature Preserve. The free presentation begins at 4:30 p.m.
Organizers say Carey will share her knowledge of the science behind hibernation, how hibernators team up with their gut microbes to recycle nutrients during the long winter fast, and the insights into human health that may be gained from discoveries in hibernation biology.
