  1. “A woman from Omaha, Nebraska, posted a video on X of a visit from a U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agent concerning a post she had made online about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.”

“Bonkiewicz, a mother of two from Old Market, Omaha, on Thursday posted on X: *”When Karoline Leavitt gets what she deserves, I hope it’s televised.”*

“That message seemingly prompted a visit on Friday, with Bonkiewicz sharing both a photo of her meeting the Secret Service agent and a police officer at her door as well as a two-minute video of their interaction.”

“The Secret Service came to my door today because of a tweet. No threats. No violence. Just words. That’s where we are now,” Jamie Bonkiewicz wrote on X on Friday, sub-posting the video in response to her comment on the matter.”

“The USSS confirmed to Newsweek on Saturday that “it was a special agent with the U.S. Secret Service as well as a local police partner featured in that video during a protective intelligence interview.”

“You don’t want to perceive any ill-will towards these people,” the agent says, to which Bonkiewicz responds that she “wants to see her [Leavitt’s] trial,” later clarifying she expects Trump administration officials to face something like the Nuremburg Trials after they’re out of office.”

“Do you go to a lot of the – any demonstrations or things like that?” the agent asks, and when Bonkiewicz queries the reason for his question, he replies, “I’m just curious.”

“Bonkiewicz says she doesn’t want to answer “any questions like that,” after which the agent questions her on whether she has weapons in the house or has traveled to “any functions—Democrats, Republicans…any kind of rallies or anything like that?”

  2. Seems like we should all get some church of latter-day Saints material available just in case the treasury department comes a knocking

  3. Props to that woman for her bravery. She’s taking huge risks by getting the word out there when they know her name and where she lives. Fascism thrives when people are too afraid to speak up, so here’s to hoping this inspires enough people to do the same that they can’t go after everyone.

  4. >*The U.S. Secret Service in an email statement to Newsweek****:*** *”While I cannot speak to the specific nature of the investigation, for us it’s not about sides, it’s about service. Any statement or action, explicit or implied, that can be perceived as a potential threat…*

Thought crimes. So vague, so broad, as to constitute open license to snoop and threaten.

  5. First Amendment is going to die almost as fast as the Fourth Amendment under this Administration

If the got her info that means there was a court order to get it and they likely know everything she’s ever said online (including any deleted things) and everything about her since she was born. That’s terrifying.

  7. Free speech absolutism at its finest.

Stupid people who believed that covid restrictions were tyranny they’re all silent (and/or supporting) as they watch all this.

Meanwhile the ‘free speech absolutist-in-chief’ over on twitter is posting nothing but lies and racism and lies and more lies, day in and day out… as he causes domestic chaos in America and rakes in as much as he can from taxpayer funds and the treasury.

The Press Secretary is not a Secret Service protectee so I’d love to know the regulatory authority the used for this investigation.

pretty telling that they interpret someone “getting what’s coming to them” as violence and not courtroom justice.

  10. Why is anyone still on X? Just clicking on a link pays Musk and encourages more of the same behaviors. Get off X. Get off FB. Seriously.

  11. “Lady if you had only posted Child Pornography on Twitter we wouldn’t be here. Instead you suggested that your government’s administrative staff might someday experience consequences for their actions in government. That’s simply not allowed.”

I had emails from my ex boss stating clearly that he was going to kill me and my roommates. He came to our house and assaulted one of my roommates as well as destroyed my car with a baseball bat. We had eye witness accounts from neighbors and he even showed up at my work and admitted to doing it on camera. The police did not help us at all. Wild to think there are 2 entirely separate Americas for the privileged and for us.

I’m glad that people are sticking up for our rights. We can’t afford to become like China or Russia, and we need to preserve the democratic values the founding fathers left to us.

  14. This is way more common than people realize. They visit people every day about stuff they post on the internet.

Most likely a bunch of people on x reported her post to the secret service… everyone knows the site has been overran with far right lunatics and edgelords, why anyone else still uses and supports it boggles the mind.
