Europe can take the lead anytime…….
The Ukrainians are in a much stronger position than this cartoonist makes it out. The peace talks are just theater for the Americans to somewhat limit their support for the Russians, and keep Ukraine in the memory of American public if there are changes in attitude of the US regime in the future.
It’s interesting how this “peace process” entirely disappeared from the news. Anyone paying attention knew it was never going to work, it was just Putin and Zelensky trying to convince Trump the other one wasn’t cooperating, which is tricky when Trump believes Putin over his own intelligence services.
It was all media theater, russia’s demands never changed, the US no longer has leverage to put much pressure on Ukraine and doesn’t want to put pressure on russia, it was never in a position to lead serious negotiations.

Just another typical political cartoon of the Ukraine war, where they always make it look like Putin is winning (when he’s not), and the EU is nowhere to be seen.
