ss: The Trump administration wants nations to pay $1 billion to stay on his [peace board](https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/us-names-rubio-blair-kushner-gaza-board-under-trumps-plan-2026-01-17/), Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing a draft charter.

U.S. President [Donald Trump](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/donald-trump/) would serve as its inaugural chairman and each member state shall serve a term of no more than three years from this charter’s entry into force, subject to renewal by the chairman, the report said.

  2. He really isn’t hiding the grift any more is he. It’s utterly hilarious just how insanely corrupt this is, and how seemingly no one cares any more. This is just an open venue for him to collect massive bribes from other nations. He’s turning the US military into his personal racket enforcers.

  3. He just took the Venezuelan oil money and put it in his own offshore accounts. Are we really supposed to trust this guy

    >According to a draft charter for the proposed group seen by Bloomberg, President Donald Trump would serve as its inaugural chairman and would decide on who is invited to be members. Decisions would be taken by a majority, with each member state present getting one vote, but all would be subject to the chairman’s approval.

Hiow does he even come up with this shit…

I’m at the point where I just can not wake up and check out the news any more because it just runs my mornings. My god someone invade and save us.

  6. So the main thing is your country gets a 3-year term which you can pay a billion dollars to “the board” to make permanent. I don’t see this actually getting any offers. The success of this board as a body hinges on its ability to reconstruct Gaza within the 3 years that constitute the founding members’ terms (probably less than that so they can deliberate on the decision to fork over all that money)- if they can’t rebuild Gaza, everyone will lose interest in the board and leave. By which point the U.S. might have a new president who abandons it anyway. There’s also the obvious unreliability of entrusting a billion dollars to Donald Trump. What if some board members come into conflict with the U.S. during their tenure, for example, I don’t know, over Greenland? Does Trump keep the money? He probably keeps the money. Probably in Qatari bank accounts. So no sensible European/Asian/LatAm/etc country is going to invest.

I guess the upside is that it’s such an obvious scam that no one will fall for it? Like why would you pay a billion dollars up front to secure your position in an untested organization whose mission is to rebuild one of the most famously terror-ridden places in the world at the behest of one of a proven fraudster for no benefit to yourself or your country?
