Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 930,787 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,577 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,137 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 943,828 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.1% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 23.4% of total generation, while wind and natural gas plants contributed 21.6% and 16.2%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 13,282 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 238 megawatt-hours.
