  1. All these corporate engineers getting paid so much just to build a weak infrastructure. I can’t say I’m shocked

  2. Target source code? So they know how much the home decor costs? Who gives a shit. What kinda trade secrets could Target of all places have in their code

  3. What exactly is “source code” in this case? Like I can’t imagine it’s too complex. All the valuable information would in in the DBs.

  4. Target loss protection forensic unit is just waiting until the hackers steal enough source code then they will nail them for sure!

  5. According to reports (BleepingComputer and others), an unknown threat actor is claiming to sell ~860GB of Target’s internal source code + dev docs after briefly exposing sample repos on a public Gitea instance.
Current/former employees have verified that file names, internal tools (like BigRED, TAP Provisioning), and metadata match real Target systems. Target reportedly took their dev Git server offline quickly after the samples appeared.
No confirmed customer data exposure yet -just proprietary code- which is still bad for future exploit research or insider knowledge leaks.

  6. I’m so confused. Who wants to buy the source code for one of the worst .com retailers online today…. especially when there are superior packaged retail experiences online lol

  7. cute_polarbear on

Would think the actual database data (unencrypted…hope they encrypt key information…) is more important…
