ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Small business owners in Rockford will soon have the chance to get hands-on guidance on how to tackle some of their biggest challenges.

Ryan Middlesworth, founder and owner of The Middlesworth Group, leads an interactive workshop designed to help owners create sustainable income and stronger business foundations.

The interactive workshop is built around identifying the root causes of common business’ problems and mapping out a personalized plan for long term success.

“We’re going to ask participants that come to bring a process to the table, and we’ll map it out and we’ll understand at a higher level what’s going on,” Middlesworth added.

Middlesworth says attendees will leave with a clear action plan and a better understanding of where to focus their energy to keep their business thriving.

A key focus of the session of what Middlesworth calls “firefighting” — the cycle of constantly reacting to urgent problems owners find themselves stuck in this loop, which can limit growth and consistency.

“If you feel that way … we want to make sure we’re taking a prescriptive approach as a business owner and a leader to be more proactive,” said Middlesworth.

The workshop will help owners examine their operating; understand why they fall into firefighting mode and develop strategies to break the cycle.

“There’s a big change that’s coming, and the why behind this is being ready. You may see a ton of volume, you want to be ready for it, you want to capitalize on those things,” said Middlesworth.

The workshop is a partnership with the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce’s Rockford Area Aerospace Network, which means similar events could return in the future to continue supporting the local business community.

The workshop will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce, 308 W State St. Ste 190 in Rockford.

Interested business owners can register for the workshop here. Pricing is $35 per person which includes the workshop, a certificate upon completion and cocktails and networking opportunities.
