Greece posts EU’s largest unemployment drop, labor minister says

[InTime News]

Greece is recording the largest reduction in unemployment ever achieved by a European Union member-state and the largest increase in employment among OECD countries, Labor Minister Niki Kerameus told ANT1 TV on Tuesday.

“Unemployment, when New Democracy took over, was about 18%. Today it is 10 percentage points lower. It is at 8%. This is the largest reduction in unemployment ever achieved in an EU member-state. This means that more than 500,000 of our fellow citizens who were not working in 2019 are working today,” the minister stressed.
