Civil Protection Malta has responded to hundreds of incidents across the Maltese Islands as a result of Storm Harry, according to an official situation update issued at 6.00am.

As of this morning, emergency crews have dealt with:

  • 228 tree obstructions

  • 119 debris clearance operations

  • 14 billboard and sign incidents

  • 45 electrical hazards

  • 27 people trapped in vehicles

  • 6 flooding incidents

  • 6 hazardous material spillages

  • 6 rubbish fires

  • 3 vehicle fires

  • 3 medical extrications

  • 5 police assistance requests

  • 1 person locked in a lift

Civil Protection Department crews remain fully deployed and are working alongside other emergency services to ensure public safety and restore normality where possible.

The public is being urged to avoid coastal areas, exercise extreme caution when travelling, and follow all instructions issued by the authorities.
