  1. We need proper night trains as an alternative to flying medium distances inside Europe. Sitting into the train in the evening, having a good nights sleep and waking up on the other side of Europe in the morning would not only save CO2, but also a night in the hotel and all the time uselessly lost travelling to/from airports and waiting in the airport.

  2. does driving wipe the gains? what about eating meat? or maybe importing cheap items from China?

I hate these type of articles…

  3. WetPuppykisses on

    >People think that average Swiss citizens can regulate and adjust the world climate

    ROFLMAO

  4. i really wish they come up with a better fuel alternative soon.. flying is not going anywhere and we really need to make it more sustainable

  5. Maybe I missed it in the article (only skimmed through) but it would be interesting to see how much of the flying is for personal reasons and how much for work.

  6. People need to realise the impact that flying halfway across the globe for holidays has. This should be priced in the tickets and redistributed to greener alternatives.

We should also forbid advertising, and work on making holidaying closer to home cool again. An important part of curbing climate-damaging activities is to reduce their social and cultural valorisation.

  7. Impossible, the city dwellers who vote green all year round would be frequent fliers and have the carbon output of a 44t truck?

    Who would have thought…

  8. The only rational answer is to bar Zürich residents from flying. Net zero must be reached, it’s what they voted for.
