    From the article:

Seven House Democrats broke with much of their party to vote in favor of advancing funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), helping move a Homeland Security (DHS) spending measure forward in committee despite strong opposition from progressives.

The votes came during a markup of the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill, with Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky casting the lone Republican vote against it.

And Ezra Klein – by and large the “darling” of the Democratic establishment – says that folks like Golden and Perez should be the future of the party and just as influential as Mamdani.

You ain’t primarying your way out of this.

Remember this when Democrats tell you fascism is only here because you didnt give them enough power by voting harder.

  6. Complicit.

Stop thinking any of these people represent you. You are an only lying to yourself.

I will in no way vote for any dem that supports ICE in any way. ICE leadership has been shown to be corrupt. There is no saving it. None. Even if that means Newsom or anyone. We have nothing more to lose.

The votes came during a markup of the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill, with Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky casting the lone Republican vote against the funding, which passed 220-207 and will fund ICE as well as FEMA through September 30, 2026.

The seven Democrats who voted yes to approve ICE funding were:

    – Rep. Tom Suozzi (New York)
    – Rep. Henry Cuellar (Texas)
    – Rep. Don Davis (North Carolina)

    – Rep. Jared Golden (Maine)
    – Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (Texas)
    – Rep. Marie Glusenkamp Perez (Washington)

  10. We have got to have separate bills for separate funding. This bill that everyone want to primary all these Democrats for ALSO funds FEMA.

So they can either end up voting for ICE or against FEMA. And that’s bullshit. There should be one bill for ICE and one bill for FEMA and one bill for school lunches, etc.

I don’t care if it’s more work. Maybe if being in Congress required long hours and 48 weeks a year, fewer scumbags would be interested in the job.

  11. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. The rational I heard was that ICE is already incredibly funded via the “Big, beautiful bill” so if the government shuts down again ICE will continue to operate as is and then other essential service like FEMA, head start, and the IRS will be shut down.

What is wrong with these people? Why are they like this? I just wish I lived in a different reality. This is why I hate my species.

  13. I get the two Texas ones (still need to be primaried) but New York seriously??? Makes me ashamed of the state

  14. Like I’ve said many times before, don davis will never get a vote from me. Fake ahh “democrat”. He’s a “good ole boy” from rural NC. He’s for them.

  15. Go figure. Always the magical number of status quo democrats ready to sell out the country. Who could have thunk that? The party’s as worthless as can be.

  16. This is the first time I’ve genuinely felt that the reasons the Democratic Party isn’t doing anything, isn’t because they can’t, it’s because they’re on board and benefiting from all of this.

  18. Vote them out. Hound them with nanes of all those died. Names of Kids held, us citizens held. Make them regret voting for facist

  19. nevergiveup234 on

Yep, this part of the democrat politics. It happened in 2017

I bet they are in contested districts.. just saying

  20. Notably, because the vote was 220-207, if those 7 votes had flipped you’d have ended up at 213-214 and the ICE funding would not have passed. This is not a “well there was nothing we could do” situation.

  21. Every single one of them is up for reelection in 2026 except for Jared Golden who is stepping down after his term. VOTE THEM OUT

  22. Disintegration_007 on

So what’s the point of having a 2 party system if they both act in defense of one party that is so blatantly anti-American? This bill was deeply unpopular within the majority of the US constituencies.
