    Pissing rain


    is it just me or is the weather exceptionally awful this month? i mean i get it, we are in ireland and it’s january, but it is pissing rain for way too long and no signs of stopping. how do you cope?

      We close our eyes, and think of the long days of August, when it barely rains half the time.

      Weather apps can’t predict accurately beyond about 48hrs so I wouldn’t be bothered by that. And it’s just a bit of rain. Unless you’re new to the country it shouldn’t be a surprise or issue really.

      I struggle with it actually. I don’t mind a cold day as you can layer up and get on with it. One rainy day is ok but endless rainy days get to me

      I’d much rather it’s colder and dry, at least you know it will be sunny and you can be outside without fighting for your life. I’m sitting on my hole all day like a chicken on her eggs.

      Scurry from dryness to dryness, mildly inconvenienced in between. It is going on a bit long though, mad misty rain too.

      I prefer this over the freezing cold to be honest. Dried up and had a nice walk there in just a hoody

      I’m meant to be meeting a woman to take a piano off my hands on Saturday, she’s only got an open top trailer to put it in so won’t do it in the rain. If the weather continues like this, I’m gonna end up taking a sledgehammer to the thing to get rid of it!

      It’s bad, it’s bad because the Atlantic woke up but can’t push its weather east due to a big blocking high pressure area.

      I’d prefer the frosty/icy days. At least there’s a chance of blue skies plus the cold on a wet day I find much colder. The damp gets right into your bones and joints.

      So much for “dry January” 😂 …it’s worse as I spent 3 weeks over Xmas in Spain and only transport option around here is an ebike where more than once in past week I have said “last winter in Ireland”

      The second my solar panels were installed the weather turned to utter day after day misery. Feck off rain, I want to see some kilowatts coming in. Barely making enough to charge a phone these days.

      It’s been terrible this week. I had such a great start to the year with lots of hiking and all the momentum evaporated with this shitty weather.
