  1. Edit:
The visual is about **non-US deaths only**, which is clarified in the accompanying article:

*”NATO’s Article 5 – the clause stating that an attack on one member is an attack on all – has been invoked only once: by the US after the 9/11 attacks. In response, dozens of allied countries deployed troops to the US-led war in Afghanistan.*

*More than 1,100 non-US coalition soldiers were killed in that war. Overall, the conflict killed more than 176,000 people between 2001 and 2021.”*

Visual I created for the European Correspondent in light of Trump’s threats to Greenland and NATO. The published version is accompanied by a caption with context: [https://europeancorrespondent.com/en/r/nato-coalition-casualties](https://europeancorrespondent.com/en/r/nato-coalition-casualties)

  2. Poor colour choices here.

The two blues aren’t different enough to easily distinguish.

The colours for France and Germany would be fine… if you hadn’t put them directly next to each other. Purple / brown, and brown. Quality.

  3. This is not beautiful data.

France a Germany colours hard to differentiate.

    Other blues as well.

Be also interesting to see how many of those deaths were by US friendly fire as well.
Around 10 British and Canadians from what I remember.

  5. A little over a thousand on this graph, it seems. So just shy of 45 thousand less than the number of civilians killed.

I know the idea here is taking a jab at the US, but sincerely that’s all I can think about when I see these kinds of posts…

  6. What is the point of this ? Yes, Europe was all accomplice with the bloodlust of the USA. Yes, Europe was all in. Now, that the barrel of the gun of USA is on them, they are not liking it.

From the other side of the world: We don’t care. Nobody gives a damn whether 10 or 100s of European soldiers got killed in a war where thousands and thousands of innocent civilians died for no reason at all. We won’t be gaslit by the Europeans now when they say they are all for international law. There was never an international law. It was all about strength. Always has. Canadian PM is right.

PS: To Denmark and the Danes, if you want 100 percent security of Greenland from the US, Russia or China. Get Nuclear weapons ASAP.

This is not beautiful data, it is actually bad represented.
    Also, “other” countries are misinterpreted:

  8. And to think they were there to help boost Opium production (reached all time highs while there) until Chinese Fentanyl production reached the volumes needed to take up the slack. Did anyone tell they they were really working for big pharma ?

  9. There are plenty of world leaders who will follow Trump into battle, and it’s probably coming.

He doesnt care if anyone dies as long as it isnt him, yet these world leaders will be dumb enough to fall for it thinking they might get to kiss his hand in return.

TACOs comments are the most inhumane, disrespectful thing I have ever heard on the world stage in my lifetime. He’d already lowered the bar, but this is a new, utterly unacceptable low, even for this administration. The world will not forget the US congress and houses silence when TACO is gone.

I can only imagine the UK is still putting up with this shit since is their colony and therefore their fault. What an embarrassment. These countries in Europe are bitching about all they did for the americans forgetting the part they had in colonizing other countries. Europe is paying their long dues.

  13. I hate everything about this infographic. First and foremost it should have been a pie chart or a histogram, not <whatever-the-fuck-it-is>. Then UK and Denmark are almost the same color, France and Germany barely different, the one little rogue coffin on the right bottom angle, the US nationals not included without explanation.

The color scheme is a real problem for readability, especially with those blues and browns clustered together. It’s a shame because the underlying data on coalition losses is so important to visualize clearly. A simple palette adjustment would make this much more impactful.

  15. Trojan horse Trump has been sent in to destroy the west from within, same with farage,

You haven’t got to look far….just look who’s name was all over his inauguration signage,
The same person funding reform and Brexit…a man with a dirty money trail all the way to the Kremlin,

How are people still so blind to this ,

This is another huge milestone sending America back years.

Trump has left NATO knowing that when he finally causes WW3 after going for greenland, it will be the likes of Russia, Israel, Saudi arabia who will be it’s allies, exiled counties are being brought back into the fold

The world have seen what Hitler did, the world was too late to stop him.

The world sees Hitler 2 and yet again choses to sit with their thumbs up their ass

  16. How is anyone taking private nepobaby bonespurs seriously?

He had his chance to see war, he was too much of a coward.

By leaving NATO, trump has just showed the rest of the world his intentions,

    Russia, israel, Saudi Arabia, Korea

These are the annexed states that Trump is being paid to bring back into the first world fold, these are going to be the allies of the USA going forward

Has anyone played the game risk??! This doesn’t end well

  17. The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

  18. For context, that’s somewhere between three days and two weeks of current Russian deaths in Ukraine.

  19. Really seems like people who produce these diagrams always try to do it as non-colorblind-compatible as possible…
