I’m intrigued by this low wall that we often walk past on our regular mount Coot-Tha walks, along the Honeyeater Track. It looks like the wall has been there for a long time, and it is a perfect perching and pondering spot, but I suspect it wasn’t built for that purpose. Does anyone know anything about the history? As you can see, it overlooks the reservoir, but looks much older than the reservoir to me.

Would be handy for catching errant vehicles before the plunge into the reservoir and take out the water supply for thousands of people.
I dunno, lean over and take a look. I’m sure its written there.
Looks like it’s nothing more than a low height seating wall to sit on 🤷🏼
Probably doggers.
To keep the rabbits out.
It an out door dunnie
I thought Mexico was paying for it
WWII gun placement build by the Americans to protect the water tank. They were worried that if the Japanese invaded that they would attack the water tank below. Oz at war has heaps of really interesting articles about mt Coot-tha.
Honestly no clue what it’s there for.
The wall helps to stop land slides towards the water tank.
