STEPHENVILLE, Texas (KWTX) — The technology director at Huckabay ISD was arrested Thursday on felony charges related to child exploitation following an investigation by the Erath County Sheriff’s Office and the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce.
Matthew Thompson faces charges of child grooming, a third-degree felony, and sexual performance by a child, a first-degree felony, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators executed a search warrant Thursday within Stephenville city limits. Evidence gathered during the search, combined with information from the ongoing investigation, led to multiple arrest warrants for Thompson.
Huckabay ISD officials were notified of the investigation and cooperated fully to ensure student safety, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation remains active. Authorities said no additional identifying information about victims will be released to the public.
