This was done to some of the the huts in the NSW high plains during 2019-20.
This works great for a succulent roasted chicken in the oven too

My cousins mate did that and the house didn’t burn but it was still fucked from the heat.
American wildland firefighter here (with Aussie family). This is Aluminized Structure Wrap (ASW), commonly just called “structure wrap” or “fire wrap”. We use it all the time for structure and infrastructure protection on wildfires in the western US. It is effective if installed properly. It is also expensive.
