      Keeping Nico’s family and friends as well has the hospital staff and first responders who attended the scene in my thoughts. This is just awful

      If your going to to waste your time sending condolences on a reddit thread where nobody related to this incident is going to see it. At least have the decency to not abbreviate rest in peace…

      This just shows people comment crap like that to appease themselves rather than make other people feel better.

      RIP. Sorry for his family’s loss, a young life taken far too soon.

      I don’t know if I’m overreacting or if it’s the way the media’s been reporting on it but the spate of shark attacks the last week has made me seriously reconsider swimming in the beach at all. Can just swim in a pool and be safe. I like swimming but it’s not worth the risk of death or having to have your leg amputated (as what happened to one of the other victims). All round very sad and I don’t think I’ll see swimming at the beach the same again.

      This has hit me weirdly hard. I have no children, no connection to him or his family, but it’s just so sad.

      Honestly I’m very impressed with his mates thinking and acting so quickly. I think basic first aid should be taught to schools for reasons like this. I know poor Nico did pass but I think they definitely bought him some more time. My thoughts with friends family and Nico, so sad

      So sad. I hope his mates are ok. The bravery of the boy who immediately jumped in to help him was outstanding.

      Heartbreaking to read. Just far, far too young. Had his whole life ahead of him and was taken in an instant by an animal whose instincts most of us will never fully comprehend, let alone truly understand.

      Rest in peace buddy. All my well wishes to the family, and of course the friends he was with whose lives will no doubt forever be affected by this tragedy.
