Almost all data on revenues from traffic fines are decreasing, except in 4 regions, and in Molise even +63%!
the Italians paid 1.89 billion euroswhich on average means 32-33 euros each (but considering everyone, from the elderly to newborn children). In 2024 it came close to two billion, while now there has been a decrease of 4.4%.
In comparison between large cities, Milano it’s the first. The Municipality obtained almost 170 million euros from the fines. There was a clear -17% compared to 2024, when the sum exceeded 200 million. But things went even ‘worse’ for the coffers of Roma: -18.6% and collections reduced to 119 million euros, compared to 146 the previous year.
There are four Regions which, in contrast to the others, have seen their revenues increase significantly. In Abruzzo +19.2% from 25 to 30 million. In Umbria +17.7%, from 21 to 25 million. In Sardinia +22.4%, from 14 to 17 million. And in Molise even +62.9%: fines went from 2.5 to 4 million euros.
