Died Dr. Izidor Perera-Matić, partisan doctor from Dinara, Neretva and Sutjeska 01.25.1944

Dalmatian, Jew, doctor, athlete, partisan. Passed Neretva and Sutjeska. Sister died in Jasenovac.

In his honor, the military hospital at Križine in Split was named after him, taking into account that this hospital arose on the foundations of Hospital VIII. of the corps. On the 40th anniversary of his death, January 25, 1984. a memorial bust of Izidor was discovered in front of the hospital portico. In the 1990s, the “Dr. Izidor Perera-Matić” hospital was renamed “KBC Split Križine”, and the bust was permanently removed. Thus, the name of the famous partisan doctor was slowly pushed into oblivion.
