The US needs to respect Canada’s sovereignty. End of story.

The China Tariff drop wasn’t even a special deal, it was just returning to a state of normal. The US is trying to paint Canada as a threat by “Cozying” up to china and we cannot let that narrative take root or it will be used by the US to push for needing to subdue Canada for security purposes.
We have to push back on that narrative whenever it pops up.

One simply can’t trust Trump and US to honor it’s deals anymore.
Despite having a trade deal ,Trump threatened to impose additional 100% tariffs on Canada just because they are making trade deals with China which is their sovereign right .
Canada is caught off guard , it’s exports are heavily dependent on US , it’s economy is heavily reliant on US which made them vulnerable and this is the reason Trump bullies Canada with impunity
Canada is rapidly trying to diversify it’s economy make new trade deals and partners to end its vulnerability , dependency and US is trying to make sure Canada always remains under its thumb as a vassal or as it’s own territory. For eg Trump addresses Canadian Pm as Governer.

Canada can’t back down. Trade and ties with America are now a weapon wielded against Canada.
Backing down would mean we would be even MORE reliant on america for trade. Which as we can clearly see, is a risk that we can no longer accept.

Good for Canada. I assume this is the ‘hit the gym’ phase of a global trading partner breakup. We (the US) never deserved them.

I mean, Trump said he wanted to make them a state through economic force. What did he think would happen?

So Donald Trump, afraid of China, alienates our closest ally by treating them as an enemy, and then is mad that Canada is now pivoting towards them?
Insanity.

Middle powers need to come together with a NATO like economic article 5 that is triggered whenever any member country is faced with tariffs from an aggressor nation. It would trigger automatic retaliatory tariffs across the entire membership in direct proportion.

Unrivaled global super power to the laughing stock of the world in 11 years. Talk about speed. And yes, unfortunately it’s looking like the Biden admin was definitely not reversing this trend, but accelerating it in some other ways.

Its honestly kinda annoying as a Canadian, that we are getting all this coverage from places/people that never paid us no mind before.
Let us do our thing , stay on that side, and go back to not caring like you did 12 months ago.

Hahaha wasn’t this the country trying to rally the Five Eyes against India not even a year ago?
There isn’t much Canada has to offer to India. It’s not a big bloc like the EU, nor a big economy like Germany or Japan.
“Energy Minister”. Yeah, as if India needs Canada’s energy when it just signed off on 200B with the UAE, which is right next door and Iran.
If anything comes out of it, then its purely a favour to Canada and to stick it up to the US, nothing more. India should treat it as such and demand a immediate ceasing of supporting and providing asylum to terrorists and separatists and nothing less before any talks even begin, if not then tell him to have fun being the 51st state.
If the US faceplanted trying to tariff India, then Canada is not of concern. India doesn’t need to make amends with Canada, it can keep that bridge burnt.

Why appease America? They have shown they don’t abide by their trade deals. They are unpredictable and untrustworthy.
