  1. I feel like this statistic is actually derived from chicken fillet sales, rather than actual chicken rolls.

Which means they are lumping chicken fillet rolls in with chicken fillet wraps. Which is appalling behavior, as everyone knows there is a massive step up in the quality of people buying wraps over rolls.

  2. Slightly misleading headline as that’s Centra’s overall revenue and not the Chicken Roll economy which is not broken out.

  3. Haven’t had a chicken fillet roll in years, the only reason I’d go chicken fillet is if the sausages and eggs are scabby looking, thankfuly the quality of most delis is now at a point that there’s much better options than a poxy chicken fillet- you lot are weirdo’s and bland as fuck!

This makes it sound like 2.2bn is being spent on chicken rolls, rather than total Centra sales

  5. I realise this might mean my passport gets revoked, but I wouldn’t thank you for one. I’d throw my granny under a bus for a jambon though.

Literally see the deli around the corner packed out the door at lunch for the school kids getting lunch every day.

I couldn’t figure out how parents were affording to give them 50 a week to spend on lunches

I will never forget the €1.99 chicken fillet rolls from the centra (?) next to Molly Malone before she moved. Good times.

  9. If you wonder why we have an obesity epidemic, this is why.

1000 plus calories with close to your daily allowance of saturated fat, salt, sugar, carbohydrates all probably shovelled down with a coffee or a lucozade.

Fuck it I love them though.

  10. Have bought a chicken roll in a long time because they’re a massive rip off.

People bought them because they were cheap, end of the day it’s just shitty chicken in bread. How the fuck can that cost €6 a pop.

€3 in 2011 is €4.08 today when corrected for inflation.
