Azerbaijan has extradited internationally wanted individuals to Moldova and China, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
According to the information, Rustamov Firuz Farhodovich, a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan born in 1991, who was wanted internationally by the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova for violating traffic and vehicle operation rules, and Xu Pengcheng, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China born in 1974, who was wanted internationally by the competent authorities of that country for engaging in illegal entrepreneurial activity, were located in Azerbaijan in 2025, and pre-trial detention measures were imposed on them.
The petitions of the competent authorities of the respective countries for the extradition of the said persons were forwarded by the Prosecutor General’s Office to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes for consideration.
In accordance with the European Convention on Extradition dated December 13, 1957, and the “Treaty on Surrender between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China,” decisions were made regarding these individuals, and they were handed over to the competent authorities of Moldova and China under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
