I’m broadly okay with this kind of measure, but I think it generally has to be EU-wide or you’re just shooting yourself in the foot.

  3. I’d say we’re like an Africa nation when it comes to resources. Most of the profits move abroad.

  4. The idea that an island nation depending on airtravel for connectivity would heavily tax airlines sounds less than ideal to me.

Should we divest from fossil fuels? Yes. Should we take unilateral actions which make the country less resilient at this time? No.

  6. has she stopped flying yet …. or turned down the heat yet.
Is she still sitting down with the oil rich emirati family to sanitize their holding of their daughter.

Her stopping investment in fossil fuels means a block on new airport infrastructyre, a block on private investment in changed fuel faciliites a block on industries which might use fossil fuels..

A block on towns with heavy solid fuel air pollution switching to clean natural gas – thats fine for her at smoked salmon parties in dublin but us in country towns and go get effed.

She wants us to freeze and if we die , thats a sacrifice she is willing to ignore .

  7. Net zero is the death knell in the European economy, taxing its citizens and restricting business and farming, all in the misguided idea we can save the world through unachievable targets that penalise regular Europeans while the rest of the world does as it pleases.
