It's so hot in this joint I'm about to follow the dog and dig a hole under the house.

Anyone else dreaming of some subterranean lifestyle changes at the moment?

couldn't figure out an appropriate flair as brain is boiled

Im surprised some eccentric rich cunt in Kew hasn’t carved his mansion from the rockface that I often see in the hilly areas of Kew.

I don’t think my relatives overseas even own a fan because their house is made of stone (or similar) so even when it’s 40 degrees it stays cool (it gets really cold in winter though- I remember the first time we stayed their during winter and my nail polish remover froze)

  3. Stayed in an underground hotel in Coober Pedy a fair few years back! Great experience, slept well. Wayyyyy cooler than outside!

Coober Pedy is where you stop for fuel on the way to somewhere. It’s a moonscape in the desert with its most attractive characteristic being your ability to leave.

Worked on a vineyard a while back. The owner’s house was made out of straw bales. The walls were a metre thick in some places, but he said inside was pretty much a constant temperature year round without having to do anything to it.

Claustrophobic nightmare for moi lol…Ive been in those houses though they’re pretty amazing.

  7. I’m sure the wealthy could manage it but us surface dwellers will just need to MadMax it and become the dust.

My dream is to build a hobbit hole in my beloved Kinglake one day. Partially because I am a nerd, partially because I want to live underground on hot, fire risk days

Yeah, let’s spends heaps to go down rather than less for quality effective insulation, most can’t afford either so go wild. A 200 underground apartment building seems smart…to no one…who needs natural sunlight! 🤦🏻
