ONE area of Warrington has been described as one of the most ‘desirable’ places to live in Britain.
The picturesque village of Lymm has made it on The Telegraph’s list of Top 50 most desirable places to live.
And if you have visited Lymm before, this will come as no surprise to you.
The list, published on Sunday, reveals locations that “offer a great quality of life”, according to Telegraph Money.
It said: “These locations scored the highest across several factors, according to analysis by Savills, including the proportion of residents holding managerial and professional jobs, their level of qualifications and the state of their health.”
Alongside the list, The Telegraph has also revealed how house prices in these “hotspots” have changed or been affected by the “recent pressure on the housing market”.
“In half of the top 20 most desirable towns, average property values have fallen or have been at a standstill in the period between June 2024 and August 2025,” it said.
Bucking that trend, Lymm saw a four percent house price increase from June 2024 to August 2025.
With the average house price in June 2024 being £392k. This then jumped to an average price of £408k in August last year.
Meanwhile our neighbouring town of Knutsford also made the prestigious list and saw its house prices increase from the same time period by 9.2 per cent. An increase from the average price of £534k to £583k.
While it is very much a privilege to be chosen as one of the top 50 best places to live in the country, Lymm is no stranger to this type of accolade.
Only recently in September it was named as one of the best places to live in Cheshire according to Muddy Stilettos annual Top 300 Places to Live guide. And back in October it was labelled one of the “happiest” locations to live in, in the region thanks to a survey by Furniturebox.
