  1. As an IT guy, I’m indignant with putting my profession together with influencers

    EDIT: translated to eng

  2. Glass-News-9184 on

The question is whether Poland’s economic success depends so much on IT people earning 20k per month that we should all subsidize them. It’s really not about computational scholars or high-level AI specialists.

  3. bamboooooooozle on

The tax threshold has to increase it’s downright tyrannical that they increase minimum wage but don’t move tax brackets.
Who exactly is the lower tax bracket for??

  4. ConchitaLeaoDeWurst on

It’s laughable to think a significant number of people will leave a place with apt job opportunities, high quality of life, and very low crime rates because they start making 3,5 times instead of 4 times the minimum wage.

  5. Poland is an only country where people with x3 average salary pay less % of tax, then people with average salary

  6. Or file jointly with your spouse if has lower earnings – problem solved.

EDIT: rephrased my comment, as my intention was not to suggest marrying someone, just because he/she makes small amount of money.

I work in IT on UoP, people complaining about not being a good option are blinded with greed. I still make many times the minimum salary and live a comfortable life. I pay my taxes and contribute to the development of the country. Engineers on fake B2B contracts are just too accustomed and greedy, and you can downvote me all you want.

In comparison with my colleagues in Sweden, I earn net almost the same as they do.

  8. Lol. lmao even.

Anyone thinking it’s going to happen is so delusional it hurts.

Messing with tax brackets will not yield enough money to risk messing with the governments core electorate. The gain does not outweigh the cost.
Pełczyńska is posturing so she can get off a sinking ship her party turned into, perhaps to some left wing part, that’s all.

She is right that 2nd bracket starting so outrageously low is unfair and it should start at 200k or 250k even.

  10. The “you must earn X to be in higher bracket” amount should be (politician) hands-off amount, auto updated yearly along with minimal/average pay.

Because this is what happens where tax threshold are not auto-updated by law. They become (1) silent tax increase as more and more people will fall into outdated bracket amount and (2) politicians can use “updating the bracket” as voter bait during election.

Meanwhile fake B2B (B2B that is only for one exclusive employer – basically it is becoming a JDG just to avoid taxes) is a problem, from perspective of the government, she is right about that.

As a self-employed programmer who pays 12% and contributes little to society, yeah honestly this makes fucking sense.

And unless something has dramatically changed in the last few years, Spain has better pay equality and is much less lenient towards people like us.

  12. sir they won’t pass shit, even if there was a consensus towards this bill then someone at KO will just say “no” and the rest of ruling coalition will just fold

  13. teachers, nurses 😀 hillarious, poorest group mentioned as an argument to lower taxes of people earning 300-500k easily

  14. Good luck in spain

    Income tax rates (spain)

    Taxable income bands Tax Rate

    Up to €12,450 19%

    €12,450 – €20,200 24%

    €20,200 – €35,200 30%

    €35,200 – €60,000 37%

    €60,000– €300,000 45%

    Excess 47%

  15. Good initiative, backward implementation. Why not introduce multiple brackets and boxes like they do in the Netherlands? Also, how about increase corporate income tax?

The new brackets could relieve those who live on the edge of the current bracket and suffers financially at the end of the year, and apply more burden on those who earns significantly more than the current bracket. And bigger companies with the highest revenue could contribute more.

Also also, no way they’re going to change anything.

  16. Wow if 10K PLN per month is being rich then someone’s here is copium here rly hard, in fact 2nd threshold should be rised.

  17. Jestem tym mitycznym informatykiem. Wielu z nas w tym ja pracuje na etacie i też nas drugi próg jebie po plecach. Drugi próg powinien się skalować na podstawie wielokrotności średniej krajowej z ostatniego roku.

  18. Well, best will remain in IT, useless ones will be replaced by AI. Horse wagons were also replaced by cars and candles by lightbulbs.

  19. TypicalBloke83 on

I might earn a lot in IT but I’m not on B2B hence from June I’m paying higher taxes as anyone else.

  20. Last year I resigned from my UoP job in February to avoid the 32% rate + 9% health insurance + ZUS and enjoyed a long break.

This year started 12% tax + flat zus B2B + VAT.

If the system rewards you for avoiding UoP then just quit it.

  21. SleepyProgrammer on

Yeah, well, not everyone in IT is on B2B, way to go with pitting one against the other

  22. Fun_Highlight9147 on

I think everyone should pay equally.

    19 percent is fair.

There are VAT taxes on everything people buy already.
I would prefer higher VAT taxes on consumption and lower brackets like 9 and 19 percent, so people are insentivised to work legally.

  23. It’s cute that she thinks that IT people are the most wealthy in Polish society. They still work a job, you know… middle class. Working. Like me and most of us here.

Higher class doesn’t work, because they own stuff. They are THE wealthy people. Not the middle class professionals.

Leftist propaganda aimed at easy target, as usual. “IT-aristocracy” hate worked 10 years ago, it may work today too. It’s easier to hate middle class professionals than people who own 10 apartments. Or people who are directors in private companies. Those people have money and influence in their local communities, it’s risky to hate them.

  24. “Ich dochody w listopadzie czy grudniu spadnÄ… nawet o kilka tysiÄ™cy zÅ‚otych” – for fuck’s sake, how I hate such manipulative bullshit.

Btw, wouldn’t it make more sense to take a screenshot of a translated tweet, if you’re posting it in this sub?

  25. Necessary-Mix-56 on

She have 0 influence on anything all party is under 1 %. They are joke for future elections.

  26. I just want them to move the 120k limit to something like 200k. I don’t care about B2B. But 32% tax on an income that is not even that high is criminal

Stosujemy te same stawki bez względu na formę zatrudnienia.
