…says president falls owing to not-well-placed carpet
The Presidency has allayed fear over the health condition of President Bola Tinubu, who had a minor fall during a Parade on Tuesday as part of his State visit to Turkey.
Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media, while reacting to the incident in Ankara blamed the incident on “not-well-placed carpet”.
The President had fallen twice during a welcome reception in Turkey, but Dare said the incident was caused by not- well-laid blue carpet.
“President Tinubu has since resumed official assignments, and he is currently in a bilateral meeting with Turkish authorities, after which they will address a press conference”, he said.
The President was involved in a minor accident in Turkey on Tuesday during a ceremonial parade, organised in his honour.

A video clip, which had gone viral on social media, indicated that the President fell during the parade and was later helped back to his feet.
The parade was part of the activities lined up to honour the Nigerian leader.
A closer look at the video shows that a camera man who came close to the President might have triggered the incident.
BusinessDay gathered however that the President did not sustain any injury as a result of the incident
Recall that this will be the second time the President would be involved in such an accident during official public engagements.
The first was at the 2024 October 1st Independence Parade at the Eagle Square in Abuja when the President missed his steps as he mounted the Parade truck.
