Chris Packham, the president of the RSPCA, has called on the charity to immediately suspend its RSPCA assured scheme, claiming it is misleading customers. This comes after an investigation by Animal Rising uncovered dire conditions at 45 RSPCA approved farms.

Farms pay a licence fee to the RSPCA to be part of the scheme. Last year the RSPCA received around £700,000 in licence fee payments from the Salmon farming industry alone.

It is only concerned about cruelty to animals kept as pets; they are not really worried about animals kept as livestock. You cannot have animal agriculture without cruelty, except maybe back garden chickens used for eggs. The RSPCA has no reason to be certifying farms where avoiding cruelty is impossible.

The RSPCA are a toothless animal that doesn’t care about the protection of farm animals. If they did they wouldn’t endorse a process that involves millions of animals on a daily basis to be slaughtered and eaten.

Google says The RSPCA approve gas chambers? That’s kind of wild. What a grim read
