Somalia, 29 January 2026 Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) Chairman, Mahamud Moalim Abdulle, met with the Egyptian Ambassador, Danjire Mahamed Salah Hasan to discuss ways of enhancing SoDMA capabilities in disaster preparedness.
The talks, held in Mogadishu on Wednesday, focused on training of SoDMA personnel, with Egypt offering additional support to the agency. Ambassador Hasan said Egypt is ready to provide expert training for SODMA staff to improve their knowledge in areas such as weather forecasting, hazard assessment, and disaster management.
SoDMA Chairman highlighted the ongoing support offered by the Egyptian government to Somalia. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries, acknowledging Egypt’s role in Somalia’s stability and development.
