  1. Getting Steve Witkoff in particular out of the mix is a great thing for Ukraine. Rubico isn’t as easily manipulated at Witkoff and considers Russia an adversary. Hopefully this marks at least a bit of a shift from the US on Ukraine to better footing.

  2. Not a huge Rubio fan but he at least understands foreign policy and international relations. Witkoff is a used car salesman with no foreign policy experience at all. This has to be at least a little better.

Kushner and witkoff are gonna get heat from trump for blowing up his trump tower in Moscow dream promise from putin

  4. I don’t understand why people are excited about this. Yes, Witkoff is openly complicit with the Kremlin, but as long as Trump swings the sceptre you could replace him with a giraffe and the US bias in this matter will still always be in Russia’s favour

I’m predicting trump.is so out of touch with his dementia, that the non maga core will little.by little try to take trumps administration

The USA isn’t sending a real estate agent and a dog fucker to the next round of talks ?

For Rubio it’s more important to be loyal to Trump than to what he believed in before the MAGA era. So I remain skeptical that this would lead to any change in position, but Witkoff and Kushner out, if that turns out to be true, is a good thing.

  8. “that the Trump administration has signaled to Ukrainian officials that US security guarantees would be conditioned on Kyiv first agreeing to a peace settlement that would likely require ceding the Donbas region to Russia.”

Don’t do it, Ukraine! Don’t give up the fortress belt for imaginary American security guarantees.

  9. Witkov successfully negotiated his retirement package with the Kremlin and happily stepped aside

  10. Rubio has been pushing for tougher sanctions on Russia and third party sanctions for a long time, particularly against the oil and shadow fleet.

It’s for the benefit of U.S. oil companies to profit with better sales to foreign markets, but I would rather trust that than good will and it benefits Ukraine regardless.
