I've been thinking a lot about renewable energy and how it might change our daily habits and attitudes. Imagine a scenario where everyone had access to a virtually infinite supply of renewable energy. For instance, you have a house covered in solar panels or a property with a water wheel, providing all the energy you'd ever realistically need at any given time.
In such a world, would we still feel the need to conserve energy as we do now? For example, here in the UK, many generations have grown up with the habit of turning off lights when leaving a room to save energy. Would those habits disappear if energy was limitless and renewable?
Of course, there might still be reasons to conserve energy. For example, solar panels typically store energy in batteries, and there could be a need to conserve battery life. But overall, I'm curious about how our general attitude towards energy use might shift.
What do you think? Would we become more wasteful, or would the ingrained habits of conservation persist? How might this affect our overall relationship with energy consumption? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Cheers!
