      He was implying that people of Indian descent wouldn’t care about war remembrance although more Indians died in the war than Brits. I thought he was a racist being racist to be honest.

      I wish people would have spotted some of the other things wrong with Sunak before this. But so be it

      Trying to play race card to defend Rishi and his appalling conduct shows he does not understand our values. That includes him!! 

      It also says a lot about the advisors and the Tory MPs trying to defend this.

      Trying to say this racist from Farage is lazy and insulting to what actually happened. Britain was disgraced and will forever be disgraced as the PM ditched the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It astonishing he has not resigned.

      He says he meant it in a privilege and class sort of way but I just couldn’t see him saying this if it was Boris Johnson, also privileged and in a class bubble, had skipped out on D-day duties.

      “Johnson doesn’t understand our culture.” Yeah, he would use a million other angles before he landed with that one if it was Boris, or Cameron, or May. Maybe lazy, maybe disrespectful, but I don’t see him using “culture”.

      British people in the upper classes with lots of privilege know nothing about the importance of D Day obvs.

      Rishi Sunak is the heir to one of the the largest fortunes in India – a multi billionaire Hindu nationalist with deep connections to PM Modi and a penchant for suppressing the rights of the low castes he employs.

      It’s right to say Sunak isn’t in touch with our culture. I have zero qualms with saying that the Hindu caste system and its associated corruption is completely and utterly unwelcome in our politics and his associations with it via his wife are concerning. My question to Indians is why do you continue to defend it against attack? These billionaires consider you untouchable back home, why do you continue to bring it over here?

      While Rishi is an idiot, you are going to have to forgive me for not taking lectures on what is and isn’t British culture from a man who has sang Nazi songs, aligned himself with facists and racists, and has complained about people speaking foreign languages in the UK. Not to mention is the person responsible for one of the most destructive policies in the last 50 years, while on other causes he has pretended to care about has done the square root of fuck all for decades.
