  1. This is a 20 year trade deal that predates the Ukrainian Invasion.

India and the EU are both net importers of energy. The EU does import some Indian refined products, and that won’t change.

Meanwhile, while they try to force mineral and oil out of Ukraine and Venezuela. And even threatened NATO allies over minerals in Greenland.

In the meanwhile – [Trumps ups tarrifs on South Korea to 25%](https://www.reuters.com/business/bessent-says-disappointed-by-eu-india-deal-south-korea-must-ratify-trade-deal-2026-01-28/) because they’re taking too long to negotiate a trade deal with the USA

  2. I believe Trump is a BRICS puppet though with 2 goals: destroy the US dollar, make BRICS countries have sweet deals with the EU.

  3. I’m sure he is very disappointed that we’re not just quietly letting his boss extort us.

“We fucked over Europe on our trade deal and now we’re throwing a baby-like tantrum that they found new markets to trade with”

Saw the clip on YouTube. Bessent literally sounds like he is about to cry during a long nonsensical insane ramble.

  6. Funny how when you take trade sanctions against your allies and trade partners, attempt to bully them and threaten their economies in very unpredictable ways, all at the whim of an internet troll who’s managed to be installed as an elected dictator that they tend not really care what you think.

  7. They did threatened us not even a month ago with higher tariffs because we wanted to protect Greenland.
If they want the EU to see MURICA as allies, they should act as allies.

  8. Step 1: Start a trade war with your most important allies.

Step 2: Talk shit about your allies, threaten to invade their territory.

Step 3: Your allies diversify their trade because of trust issues and market barriers.

    Step 4: Profit.

  9. Nothing mutually-exclusive is happening.

You could have a trade deal with the EU too.

Same as you can have a trade deal with India as well if you want.

Or we could all have a trade deal together.

Turns out, nobody *has* to choose to buy from the most-demanding, most-expensive, least-practical, horrible shop if they don’t want to.

I mean u and your king was threatening invasion and economic Armageddon to your allies a few days ago, and now you are wondering why they are building walls for protection.

  11. Next move would be to make some deals with China so US would be completly devastated. At this point I would better choose China as economical partner over US any day….

the USA: ‘FREE MARKETS! FREE TRADE! FREE ENTERPRISE!!!!’

    *other countries do that*

NO! ONLY WITH US! THAT’S NOT FAIR! STOP DOING FREE TRADE!!!!

  13. So ,.. first you bully your best friend and now you’re angry that your former friend is finding new friends.

    Maybe,.. start apologising first? Idk

Well, see hear mister. WE are dissappointed by your government threatening us.
By YOU adding tariffs (you know, the extra tax for the American people) just because we do not hand over a sovereign area because your president wants it. (based on lies – if Russia is such a threat, why is it in this board of peace?)

But we find other partners who do not wish to stab us in the back, and now YOU are dissappointed?
    HAHAHA!

    Pathetic little fascist.

I’m sure the deal isn’t absolutely amazing for Europe, but if it pisses off him, then I’ll take that as a win.
