The Government Agency for Strategic Reserves of Poland (RARS), in close coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, is ready to provide logistical support to Polish local government authorities that plan to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

These positions were announced at the meeting of the Government and Local Government Joint Committee of Poland.

According to participants, Deputy Interior Minister Tomasz Szymanski and the mayor of Wodzisław Śląski, Mieczysław Kęca, called for solidarity with the civilian population of Ukraine, which is suffering from attacks on critical infrastructure. They urged the authorities of cities, counties, and communes to coordinate actions to provide assistance to the Ukrainian population.

Logistics partnership and aid priorities

Under the arrangements, RARS will take on organizing cross-border logistics and storage of humanitarian cargo – generators, heaters, charging stations, and blankets – which will be transmitted to Ukraine through Polish local government authorities. The Polish government assures that aid will reach directly to the regions of Ukraine that need it most.

By decision of the Prime Minister, Poland has already organized the delivery from Poland of 379 generators and 18 heaters for the civilian population of Ukraine.

In addition, the Polish authorities warned about attempts to manipulate in social networks by Russian propaganda regarding alleged illegal sales of generators from Polish humanitarian aid. At the same time, they emphasize that all aid shipments transferred through RARS are documented, labeled, and their use is monitored by the Ukrainian side.

As is known, the nationwide campaign to raise funds for generators for Ukraine, “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv,” has raised over 2 million euros as of January 27.
