Hi there!
Hopefully a basic question, but does this mean that I have 464 chf “loaded” onto my credit card that I can now use to pay? I am confused as I just transferred a sum money to my credit card to pay off the exact amount on my invoice, but now I seem to have this balance. Is this how I owe or how much I can spend?
The user interface is a bit confusing 🙈

The interface of UBS is the worst I have ever seen. The whole thing is designed by autistic nerds with zero idea of user-friendliness. Every single possible conceivable piece of data must be present. I curse every year I have to locate my tax declaration documents.
I wish they had a ”simple mode” for the 99% of customers who aren’t professional traders but just want to see expenses, amounts, transfer money and pay bills.
Platinum card and can’t read a bank statement, nice.
Total limit is 10k for all cards combined, you can use that amount. As of today, you have used 35.85 of that limit, + you have paid in I guess 500.-? Which is the excess you have on that specific card.
Indeed weirdly displayed and confusing.
It takes some time to account for payments properly, especially if the payment is not an invoice but just account transfer.
The numbers at the bottom are sometimes outdated, the “still available” is the best indication of what your actual limit is. In this case, it’s 9964.15 and the -35.85 is what you owe. The 464.15 might be the leftover from the previous month’s statement and it can be positive or negative too (e.g. if you paid your credit card but then got a refund).
I honestly struggle with the same issue, between already invoiced positions and positions since last invoice and monthly limit and whatnot I have completely given up on understanding how much I can spend on the card. I just resorted to paying the bills and topping up the card on the spot when I hit a limit (or using a different card). UBS Visa card has really become my fallback solution when everything else fails for whatever reason.
I too found this confusing, and assumed it was because of pending transactions, so for three months in a row I overpaid my bill by increasing amounts until I realised what an idiot I had been, and ended up with a couple of k “extra” to spend on my card from chronic overpayment
Yes, I am slow
I have cancelled my UBS credit card because it just didnt make sense. Even after paying the bill the amount stayed until it passed a certain day of the month. I went back to Swisscard. Very easy. You have a used amount, pay it and the bar resets.
Some explanation: The reason is that the period for credit cards is usually middle of month till middle of month because the vendor has like 20 days to finally deduct the amount from the credit balance and the bill of the credit card is by end of the month and that is why it is so confusing.
So here the CHF 35.85.- is the current spending period and the invoice of CHF 464.15.- is the final bill from last period.
Omg relatable.
I switched to BCV, so happy
The -35.85 is the most important one. This means you still owe them this amount. This would mean that you’ve paid with the card somewhere around 500 but paid back only 464.15. If you go into the card details you will see the exact sums.
The only important number here is 9‘964.15, that is the amount you currently still can spend. Only that number is updated immediatly after spending.
The 464.15 is from the previous month. If you pay up all your spendings before the end of your billing month, the invoice will then actually be 0.
464.15chf is your last invoice for the previous month (considering this is recent screenshot, in December you have spent a total of 461.15chf on this credit card).
-35.85chf is the current spending for the month of January on the credit card. You have bought 36chf worth of stuff using this CC.
What you can use is what is written under “Available something something”
The rest is irrelevant
I can’t see it with the blackened areas but you should see it somewhere
The 464.15 is the amount of your last invoice. That will stay there until the next invoice date even if you’ve paid it.
Your card has a limit of 10K, of which currently you’ve used 35.85.
I had a huge fight over the phone with them due to this. I am coming from CS and it was much more simple. I dont even understand why they have this option „pay to card“ when it depends on which date you pay.
Had the same issue.
You have a „global limit“ of 10k across all cards.
This means you can spend that amount – Doesnt matter if your balance is 5k oder 50k.
If your balance is 5k and you spend 10k, you are 5k negative.
If your balance is 50k and you spend 10k, you are 40k positive but can‘t spend any additional money unless you increase your global limit.
Instead of calling the bank you posted your confidential stuff here? I mean even covered I wouldnt trust the internet wth
I cannot believe people still use UBS. Just read what happened in 2008 and I am sure you will not do business with them.
I really hate this app. Credit suisse App was mutch better.
Iam looking for a new bank somebody recommendations?
wait until 10th of the month and then read it
have you ever used a credit card?
If not: it reserves money sometimes, but does not bill it onto the account. This money needs to be claimed by the seller for it to get booked on your account. Only then you see the amount.
Ignore the 464.15… just an irrelevant invoice for the last period. You have already balanced your account and I guess afterwards made a payment with your credit card of 35.85. 10k is the limit of which you have currently used 35.86.
Yes its confusing and I hate it so much
Just look at the Value 35.85 if u are there at 0 or plus you good. If there is a minus value thats what u have to pay on your next credit card bill. That’s all there is.
You can also pay like another 10k then u have a limit of 20k on your credit card and a balance of 10k of “real money”.
Now it is much more friendly than it was before.
How i do it is – i want to pay something for 100 chf? I pay this 100 on my credit card after or before i buy it so its already balanced. I know its not the meaning of a credit card but it works for me.
