should rename the stops too. Fish Market has never been the closest stop to the fish markets lmao

what happens if you leave the station without tapping, do your thing, return without tapping and finally tap out when you get to where you started?

It’s definitely a bottleneck now that the new Fish Market has opened. We were there a couple of days ago and there would have been close to 100 people got off the Light Rail and tried to tap off. Many people crossed the line and used the reader on the other side. Clever!
The current setup was obviously speced for much lower passenger volumes. Another 1 or 2 readers will be needed on each side to cope with new passenger volumes. I’m surprised (not really) that this wasn’t thought of as part of the Fish Market project.

I thought the same while waiting for my turn at the reader yesterday (late afternoon normal weekday). Can’t imagine the tapping queue on weekend.

I’m probably going to get downvotes for this but they should take the one opal reader that’s there away.

I can’t believe you guys have a station now! I lived there before even the footbridge and I used to have to take a bus to Strathfield and a train from there

No accounting for future demand as usual

They have like 6 at Olympic Park where there are tens of thousands of people at the same time trying to tap on!

What they should consider is moving this stop to the actual park and building an overpass to the fish market. It will probably never happen though.

Because of the mad rush you photographed and submitted as evidence?

For context, are you implying that because of increased traffic due to the new fish market?
It is probably going to be a bottleneck given it’ll be the new fish market stop from what I’ve heard.
They are in the process of upgrading it over the next few years.
