According to the statement made on the social media accounts of the YPG/SDF terrorist organization, a new ceasefire and integration agreement was signed between the SDF and the Damascus government.

CITIZENSHIP DECISION FOR KURDS One day before the agreement, the Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs implemented the new decree providing for the granting of citizenship to Syrian Kurdish minorities following the operations carried out in the northern regions.

According to information provided by Anadolu Agency, Minister of Internal Affairs Anas Hattab decided that the regulation covering all Syrians of Kurdish origin and people without citizenship documents will be completed by February 5.

As part of the ceasefire declared two weeks ago, Syrian Interim President Ahmed al-Shara recognized Kurdish as one of the national languages ​​and announced that the citizenship rights of all Syrian Kurds would be restored.

In line with this new legal regulation, the state was instructed to protect Kurdish culture and guarantee education in this language in schools in regions where Kurds are concentrated.

The government also designated March 21, the date on which the Nevruz festival, symbolizing the arrival of spring, is celebrated as an official holiday throughout the country.

According to the instructions in President al-Shara’s decree, the authorized units will immediately prepare the instructions regarding citizenship procedures and start the implementation.
